Qualifications and Memberships

After completing her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 2003, Dr Shobana relocated to Perth to continue her clinical training. She earned a Diploma of Child Health at Princess Margaret Hospital and a Diploma of Women’s Health at King Edward Memorial Hospital. She then completed her specialist training in General Practice and achieved Fellowship through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2010.

With over 20 years of experience in medicine, Dr Shobana brings broad expertise across all areas of General Practice. Throughout her career, she has witnessed the profound impact of lifestyle factors on both individual health and the wider community. This insight has fueled her passion for Lifestyle Medicine, and she is currently undertaking the Accreditation in Lifestyle Medicine Course (AALM) with a view to Fellowship of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (FASLM).

Dr Shobana joins Remede with a progressive, patient-centred approach to healthcare and a strong focus on healthspan – supporting not only longevity, but quality of life. Her philosophy centres on optimising the four foundational pillars of health: food, movement, sleep, and stress management. She empowers patients to take an active and informed role in their wellbeing, providing expert guidance, accountability, and ongoing support throughout their health journey.

In her spare time, Dr Shobana enjoys Indian classical dancing, travelling, reading, painting, writing poetry, baking, and spending time with her family. She is known for her sincerity, dedication, patience and open-minded approach to the ever-evolving, multifaceted field of healthcare. A vibrant and positive practitioner, Dr Shobana believes every patient deserves to be educated and empowered to make informed health choices that optimise their wellbeing and support them in living their best lives.
