BCom. M.Counselling
Registered Counsellor

Alexandra is a Registered Counsellor through the Australian Counselling Association and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling, Bachelor of Commerce and additional qualifications in understanding childhood trauma.
Alex is a warm and compassionate practitioner who prides herself on her ability to build strong rapport with her clients. Her primary focus is on building trust and a strong relationship which she believes is the foundation of the therapeutic process. Alex is experienced with working with adults throughout the lifespan, supporting them to find emotional balance in their lives. Whether this be navigating life’s challenges, seeking personal growth, or understanding and recovering from past experiences. Alex is passionate about supporting women across the life trajectory, from education and career transitions, managing stress, the rigours of parenthood, relationship changes and peri/menopause. These unique challenges women face can lead to feelings of overwhelm, burnout, self-doubt or isolation. Therapy provides a safe, compassionate space where women can explore these emotions, understand themselves, rediscover their sense of purpose and make empowered decisions.
Alex’s approach is always trauma informed and endeavours to support individuals to safely explore their inner world. She believes much of healing can be achieved through understanding and re-wiring our stress responses. This occurs by addressing the root causes of stress, anxiety and/or trauma and what patterns of behaviour are keeping an individual from moving forward. Alex does this by taking the time to understand a person’s story, any apprehension or worries they may have about the counselling process, and helping a person to define goals that will guide the therapeutic relationship. Alex is pragmatic about therapy, offering clients strategies, tools, knowledge, and wisdom to practice between sessions. All of which she believes support clients to make conscious choices and enhance their emotional language and self-awareness.
Alex works in both public and private practice and works with individuals face to face.
Alex has a personal interest in mental health and metabolic function and how the cells in our body create and use energy. She enjoys working with other practitioners at Remede who can complement her clients’ journey by offering support with integrative medicine, food & nutrition, acupuncture, movement and energy healing to help them optimise their ability to live well and stay well at every age.
Alex draws on a range of evidence-based therapy approaches that include but are not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Psychoeducation, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solutions Focused, Narrative and Internal Family Systems.
