Areas of specialty and approach to treatment

Jo takes a comprehensive approach to patient care and treats a wide variety of health concerns. She has a special interest in the treatment of gastrointestinal problems, fatigue, children’s health, mental health, weight management and Hemaview.

Jo is passionate about educating her patients about the cause of their health concerns, to help them to take control of their health and long-term wellbeing. She often utilises a combination of functional and general pathology tests to investigate functional, biochemical, nutritional, metabolic and hormonal status. The results provide essential information to assist her in the treatment and management of a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions, for patients seeking a holistic approach to health. Jo’s thorough approach allows her to make a comprehensive assessment of a patient’s health issue, from which she develops their individual treatment plan. She uses a combination of complementary treatment approaches, depending on an individual’s presentation, including herbal medicines, homoeopathy, and nutritional supplements which are all aimed to correct the underlying dysfunction causing a health problem or to maximise wellness, which is always combined with dietary therapy and lifestyle advice to help her patients achieve optimal health.

Jo is also a Hemaview specialist. Hemaview is the microscopic examination of living blood cells, which can evaluate parameters unavailable to other forms of standard blood testing. Using just one drop of blood, Hemaview can show functional changes in the body and can identify factors that may be contributing to a patient’s health issues. Looking at a screen that shows their blood under a microscope, patients’ can see their current state of health.

Using Hemaview, Jo can assess a patient’s immune function, inflammatory problems, allergies, nutritional deficiencies such as (iron,B12,folate,antioxidants,essential fatty acids), blood fat levels, toxicity levels, the presence of infections, oxidative stress, free radical damage, gut problems, liver stress and lots more.

The Hemaview live blood test involves a simple finger-prick and is relatively quick to perform. Hemaview can be used as a ‘stand alone’ test, or as part of a naturopathic consultation. Other practitioners regularly refer their patient’s to Jo for Hemaview assessments as part of thorough patient care.

Jo’s passion for helping people, together with her exceptional clinical skills, makes her a valued member of the Remède clinical team.
